Hey, everyone!

Crazy busy week once again. We were in Szombathely and everything was fairly normal on Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday found us hopping on a train early in the morning to head to Budapest for a zone training. It was nice to get to see everyone from all the different cities in Sopron, Szombathely, Pápa, Győr, and Tatabánya! We stayed up in Budapest for the next day as well, because the AP's wanted us to have splits with them in Buda. It was really fun to be back in Buda again for the day--after being in a smaller city for a month and a half now, it felt a little bit like coming back home! Splits were good there, and we got back home in Szombathely on Thursday night.

Friday morning, we met up with the other elders in Szombathely, because we had planned to make some banana bread and cookies to take to all of the people that we're meeting with as a surprise. The banana bread turned out really good, and the cookies were a little bit of a bigger struggle. It was fun nonetheless, and hopefully everyone we gave them to enjoyed that! Then the Sopron elders came to have splits with us in our city on Friday afternoon. I had a chance to work with Elder Rodgers for the day, someone I'd never been around too much so far on my mission and really didn't know too well. He was awesome to serve with and we got a lot done! We did a lot of lookups and went to knock on a lot of doors, and he's a great missionary who's really good at what he does. They left back to Sopron on Saturday around dinner time, and then yesterday was a typical day of church and then knocking on more doors!

That's pretty much the highlights from this week. The missionary work is actually going super well here--probably better than anywhere else I've been so far in Hungary--and that's very exciting! Hopefully it continues to be such!

Hope y'all have a great week! Love you lots!

Crazy weather this week, with lots of hail and rain!

This is what lots of tracting looks like!

Not sure quite why someone did this to the car...

On splits in Budapest, and we went on a run in the
morning for our workout to the Buda Castle. I've missed this place!

Hey!

Quick, again, as it has been for the past little bit. The library here has very few opening hours on Mondays due to renovations, so we're still trying figure this whole emailing thing out. Few highlights for the week:

We had MLC on Wednesday, and it was good because the Stake Presidency came and had a meeting with all of the mission leaders. We talked about how to better help the branches that we're in, and it was really good!

Friday and Saturday was splits with the Pápa Elders, Ribar and Smith. We had a super good time with them here, and the splits went really well! All of our plans basically fell through and everyone cancelled on us because of bad weather, but Elder Ribar and I had a chance to get to know some of the families in the branch better while we cleaned the branch house on Saturday! Elder Ribar was such a nice guy, and he's a positive influence on the people that he works with, so it was fun to be with him!

And then we had church on Sunday! Now, we're just getting ready for another busy week ahead of us. We'll be back in Budapest on Wednesday and Thursday for a zone training and then splits with the elders in Buda, and then we come straight back to Szombathely for another day of splits with the elders from Sopron. Should be fun, even if it's a little crazy!

The work's going pretty well here, and we've actually got a lot of great people to meet with! More about that coming up hopefully! Love you all, and have a good week!

July 11, 2016

Just a quick email for today to bring everyone back up to speed!

Had another fun trip to the hospital last week after feeling pretty crummy and getting pretty sick... Six days in the hospital later, they finally had results from the lab tests that showed that I just got pretty unlucky and had a bad case of salmonella poisoning. Good news is that it didn't end up being too terribly serious, and now I'm out! I might enumerate a little bit more about that whole experience later, but the moral of the story is that it's over!

We've been trying to catch back up to normal speed for the past few days, since there's still a little bit of weakness and tiredness that comes along with recovery, I guess, so it's been a little bit slower in Szombathely this week. Yesterday, I was feeling a lot better though, and we were even able to do a little bit of normal missionary work. Everything's going well so far today as well, and we're hoping that life is back to normal now!

Not much other major news to report for today, hopefully there'll be more to talk about next time! Love you all lots and hope you have a good week!

Elder Heaps had his birthday yesterday, so we celebrated
with brownies and ice cream! (20 candles that dripped about
10 lbs of wax onto his ice cream, but it was the thought that counts.
